2003 December 6 "Swim For Terri" takes place.[1]
2004 June 24 AMF's Memorandum and Articles of Association (in the United Kingdom) dates to this day.[4]
2004 August The Against Malaria Foundation is set up (not totally clear what this means).[5]
2005 July 19 In the United States, the Internal Revenue Service grants tax exempt status to AMF under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.[6]
2005 July 19 Money milestone AMF finishes raising its first $1000.[7]
2005 October 18 Money milestone AMF passes the $10,000 mark in money raised since inception.[8]
2005 November 23 Money milestone AMF passes the $100,000 mark in money raised since inception.[8]
2005 December 3 AMF launches World Swim Against Malaria.[5]
2005 December World Swim for Malaria is reported to have had over 250,000 swimmers and raised over $1 million by this time.[9]

2006 August 31 The first Madness Against Malaria is announced. Madness Against Malaria is a fundraising tournament inspired by the basketball tournament March Madness. The competition is planned to last from September 2006 to February 2007.[20] AMF acts as an operating partner for the tournament and hosts the website.[21] 168 teams register for the tournament, which raises $104,000.[22]

2010 GiveWell publishes its first review of AMF, ranking it a "Silver Medal organization".[55]
2010 March 30 AMF is first recommended by Giving What We Can around this time.[60]
2010 June 25 World Swim Against Malaria 2010 takes place.[61]
2010 November 30 GiveWell ranks AMF third on its list of top international charities, and gives it a silver rating. AMF is also listed as the top malaria charity in its list of top charities by cause.[62][63]
2011 October 19–22 GiveWell visits Concern Universal (CU) in Malawi as part of its evaluation of AMF. CU is one of the bednet distributors AMF works with.[64]
2011 December Good Ventures awards a grant of $500,000 to AMF.[65] Cari Tuna announces the grant in a guest post on the GiveWell blog.[66]
2012 March 15 Money milestone AMF passes the $10 million mark in money raised since inception.[8]
2012 June 29 World Swim Against Malaria 2012 takes place.[61]
2012 December Good Ventures awards a grant of $1.25 million to AMF.[67]
2013 November 26 Holden Karnofsky publishes a post on the GiveWell blog saying that GiveWell plans not to recommend more donations to AMF due to room-for-more-funding issues.[68]
2013 December 2 The mobile video game Nightmare: Malaria is released. The game is created by Psyop Games in partnership with AMF.[69]
2013 December 12 Following GiveWell's removal of AMF from its list of top charities, Giving What We Can publishes a blog post explaining why it continues to recommend AMF.[70]
2014 March 25 AMF finalizes an agreement to fund 676,000 mosquito nets in the Democratic Republic of Congo.[71] The charity evaluator GiveWell notes that this is AMF's largest single net distribution finalized to date at the time.[72]
2014 December Good Ventures awards a $5 million grant to AMF.[73]
2015 June 26 World Swim Against Malaria 2015 is scheduled to take place on this day. However, the main sources mentioning the event are from 2013, so it's not clear whether the event actually took place.[74][75]
2015 August 4 AMF is granted Deductible Gift Recipient status in Australia. The news would reach the public on September 3, but all donations since the August date are considered tax deductible.[76][77][78][79] AMF had applied in July.[80]
2016 January Good Ventures awards a $22.8 million grant to AMF.[81]
2016 February 15 Tax deductible donations to AMF become possible in Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, France, Hungary, Ireland, Luxembourg, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia and Spain. This is made possible through Transnational Giving Europe, a partnership of various European foundations that takes donations in one country and routes it to the destination country, taking a 5% cut in the process.[82][83]
2016 May 5 AMF begins accepting donations in Bitcoin around this time.[84][85]
2016 August 15–18 GiveWell visits a long-lasting insecticide-treated net distribution program in Greater Accra, Ghana. The program is funded by AMF, and GiveWell's visit is part of its evaluation of AMF.[86][87]
2016 November 28 – December 15 The fundraising event Philosophers Against Malaria takes place. The event raises $58,000 among university philosophy departments for AMF.[88][89][90]
2017 January 9 Money milestone AMF passes the $100 million mark in money raised since inception.[91]
2017 January Good Ventures awards a grant of $15 million to AMF.[92]
