2015 October Immigration The Open Philanthropy Project awards a grant of $360,000 to the Niskanen Center for the center's work on immigration policy.[16]

2015 November 13 Immigration The November 2015 Paris attacks occur, in which 130 victims are killed. Following the attacks, the Niskanen Center pauses its advocacy work for private resettlement so that it can combat the argument that refugees pose a threat to the United States.[16]
2015 December 1 Climate change The Niskanen Center announces the launch of a new Center for Climate Science under the direction of Joseph Majkut.[18][19]
2015 December 14 Immigration The Open Philanthropy Project has a conversation with David Bier, Director of Immigration Policy at the Niskanen Center, on this day. The purpose of the conversation is to receive an update on the center's work on immigration.[20]
2016 May–July Immigration David J. Bier departs the Niskanen Center.[21][22]
2017 March 8 Climate change The Niskanen Center publishes a paper on climate science, titled "Climate Science: A Guide to the Public Debate", written by Joseph Majkut.[23][24][25]
2017 April 28 Climate change In an interview with The Intercept, Jerry Taylor explains how his views on climate change have shifted from climate skeptic to climate activist.[26]
