| 1863 || November 12 || Organization || The first National Society is formed in the {{w|Kingdom of Württemburg}}. The following year, National Societies are formed in the states of {{w|Baden}}, {{w|Bavaria}}, {{w|Hamburg}}, {{w|Hesse-Darmstadt}}, {{w|Mecklenburg-Schwerin}}, {{w|Oldenburg}}, {{w|Prussia}} and Saxe, all states in current-day Germany. The organization would merge in 1921 as the German Red Cross. The East German Red Cross fould would function between 1952 and 1991.<ref name="A movement is born"/> || {{w|Germany}}
